The day will be devoted to exploring the City of Cape Town. Stops will include the Company’s Gardens, the Castle of Good Hope, Signal Hill and Camps Bay. After time for lunch in Camps Bay, you will make your way to the top of Table Mountain with the cable car. From Table Mountain, spectacular views of the city, the Peninsula.
Hereafter you will make your way to your hotel.
You will have the opportunity to enjoy dinner at one of the various excellent restaurants the V&A Waterfront has to offer.

Leaving our hotel behind, embark on a breath-taking drive, known as the Chapman's Peak Drive; arguably the most scenic drive in the world! This drive hugs the near-vertical face of Chapman's Peak, from Houtbay to Noordhoek. Cut into the face of the mountain between 1915 and 1922, the road was at that time regarded as a major feat of engineering.
The road leads to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and Cape Point. In the nature reserve we visit Cape Point, where the stormy waters of the Atlantic are met by the calming influence of the Indian Ocean.
We make our way to the Seaforth Restaurant for a pre-arranged three-course lunch with fine wines.
Set on the white sands of Seaforth Beach in Simon's Town, with stunning views of mountains and sea, and penguins to entertain you, Seaforth Restaurant is a spectacular venue on the water's edge. Seaforth offers you the opportunity to delight in the fruits of the sea, or a range of platters fit for the most discerning palate.
After your awesome lunch we meet the African Penguins, we saw during lunch at the Boulders viewing-deck.
After fine food and much excitement, you make your way back to your hotel in the African Sunset.
Tonight, you are welcome to enjoy dinner at your hotel or at one of the many fine restaurants at the V&A Waterfront.

Our guide will drive us to "Stir Crazy Cooking" situated on the V & A Waterfront where we will learn about South African cuisine.
The evening dinner with the chef providing a brief history of the country and cultural influences on the local cuisine. A selection of South African recipes is discussed and guests then select which recipes they’d like to prepare for the evening. The event comprising typical South African starters and main meals and ends with a selection of desserts. Guests can either participate in creating the dishes or can merely sit and watch as the chef and participants prepare the various recipes for the evening, ending in a sensational meal made from local fare, including a mixture of flavours from Cape Malay, African and South African cuisine.

After breakfast you will make your way to Lanzerac Hotel and Spa in Stellenbosch - the heart of the Cape Winelands.
An early check-in would allow you to relax and freshen up before you depart on a city tour of Stellenbosch. Simon van der Stell founded Stellenbosch in 1679; the second oldest town in South Africa. The town became known as "the City of Oaks" due to the large number of oak trees that were planted to line the streets.

After lunch at one of the fabulous restaurants in the area, we head back to Lanzerac Hotel and the rest of the afternoon may be spent at leisure.

About 40 km to the east of Cape Town, lying in the shadow of a continuous belt of Cape fold mountains, lies a series of generous valleys known as the Cape Winelands – a collection of historic towns, little hamlets and Cape Dutch farmsteads that provide well-regarded South African wines to the world. These mountains create an incredible scenic backdrop for a myriad vine, but they are also one of the reasons wines do so well here.
Their geological compositions provide unique soil conditions that directly affect the character of wine. The topography of wineland soils vary substantially, ranging from shallow, rocky soils on steep slopes and plateaus, to reddish-brown soils along mountain foothills - the predominant soil type of the Cape Winelands, Stellenbosch, Paarl and Wellington particularly.
Like successful European wines these inland vineyards benefit from a typical Mediterranean climate. However, the influence of nearby oceans means that summers have the advantage of offshore winds far more than northern hemisphere counterparts, giving credence to the saying: 'a vineyard that can see the sea, is a good vineyard'.
We leave Lanzerac behind to explore the town of Franschhoek. The French Huguenots brought their knowledge of viticulture with them and, upon receiving land from the Dutch East India Company; many vineyards were established and are today still producing some of the world's finest wines. After lunch, we will visit one of the local wine estates, where we will sample the fine wines, they produce.
We will visit a total of 3 wine estates before making our way back to Stellenbosch!

After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, your Eco Africa Guide will transfer you to Cape Town International Airport where you will also say goodbye to your guide.
Board your flight to Hoedspruit Airport.
On arrival you will be met by your private Game Rangers (Guide) and transferred to Thornybush Lodge
Enjoy lunch and the afternoon at leisure to be in time for your first afternoon Game Drive.

Big 5 game drives take place in the early morning and late afternoon/evening, ensuring game sightings at times when the animals are naturally most active. Nocturnal animals, including the big cats, are regular sightings at night. Currently over 40 mammal species are to be found in the Greater Kruger, including the Big 5 of Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Buffalo and Elephant. The area is also a bird-watcher’s paradise, as many as 360 species of bird life have been documented here.

MANYANGANA HIGH SCHOOL
Thornybush Community Projects supports this high school by giving monthly contributions to cover their electricity costs as well as to pay for their security guards, to ensure the school is a safe environment for its 800+ learners.
We also help in other ways, such as organising extra lessons by volunteers, assisting with donations from travellers through the Pack for a Purpose platform and infrastructure upgrades.
HANANANI SCHOOL GARDEN
The Hananani School Garden was gifted in 2014 to Hananani Primary School in Dixie, the closest village to the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. The garden’s main purpose is to grow and supply vegetables to the school’s kitchen, which is responsible for providing each of the 253 school children with a balanced, nutritious meal at school every day. The learners and teachers are invited into the garden on a regular basis to assist with planting, harvesting and land preparations, which all creates a sense of pride and ownership.

After some ‘me’ time spent snoozing or reading outside your tent, a savoury and sweet ‘tea’ is prepared before another +/-3 hour walk at the end of the afternoon, ending at a viewpoint to enjoy an unforgettable African sunset. A short drive will bring you back to camp with time to freshen up before dinner around the campfire.
